PERA is the retirement and disability program designed to assist employees that have spent their lives working for the State of Minnesota. If you are injured before you can fully retire, those benefits you paid into PERA are still rightfully yours. If you are denied these benefits because the State doesn’t think you have a legitimate work-related disability, then your only recourse is a legal one.
