The relation between different languages of the world makes an interesting study. Linguists have observed that many European and Asian languages had the same roots. Many European languages have sprung from one prehistoric ancestor, which some linguists named as Proto-Germanic. But as the Germanic tribes scattered in different parts of Europe and Asia, their speech varieties began to differ eventually turning into entirely different languages. After talking to many language translators we came to the conclusion that learning a language with a similar writing script as one’s mother tongue is far easier than learning one with a different script and etymology. But the experience of learning another language also depends upon an individual’s learning capabilities and intelligence which vary from person to person. Hence, people with different cultural backgrounds, sitting in the same class to learn Spanish from the same teacher would have entirely different learning experiences.
As people scattered all over the globe, new languages evolved and the need for translation services arose. However, in the present era, the need for translation services has increased manifold. The fastest means of communication and travel have turned our world into a global village. We live in a world where inter-cultural communication has become a necessity, for individuals and nations alike. Without translators and translation service companies, the inter-cultural communication would surely experience stagnation.
