The Holocaust, the systematic persecution and murder of Jews by the Nazis, began almost 90 years ago. It is still with us today, though, impossible to erase from our collective memory. The idea that something like the Holocaust could happen seems outrageous. The idea is hostile to a rational person’s thinking.
