Let’s assume that you are a smoker and that your reaction to someone informing you that they have some great Cigarillos For Sale at real bargain prices is likely to be (at least) a mild interest. However, your mind is wandering off into a movie fantasy of spaghetti westerns, cheroots, cigarillos, hand rolling tobacco and the basically, anti-hero character in the starring role, is continuously putting one of them between his somewhat clenched lips and lighting it (he never seems to quite have the time to sit down and enjoy his smoke though).

So; What Actually Is A Cigarillo?

Your spaghetti western image is not so very far off since most of them featured Mexicans or places close by to Mexico – where they speak Spanish and, if you add the suffix “illo” to a Spanish word; you are indicating a diminutive version of what the word stands for. Another Spanish word is “cigarro” for our cigar – hence “cigarro” plus “illo” = cigarillo or small cigar. This should not be confused with another diminutive word for a tobacco product – the cigarette – which also has its roots in the concept of a small cigar. But, true cigars have to be made from 100% tobacco; whereas cigarettes are finely chopped tobacco rolled inside a piece of paper. While a cigarette is not likely to contain more than 0.04 ounces of tobacco; an average cigarillo will contain about 0.11 ounces (even though the two are somewhat similar in size). People smoke cigarettes so as to inhale the smoke and get some of its contents into their blood (via their lungs) so as to get a “tobacco hit” in their brains. Cigar smokers, on the other hand, mostly flavor the taste of the smoke in their mouths; this is why traditional, premium cigars are usually quite large in size and can take considerable to time to smoke.

Price & Smoking Time

It could take an hour or more to smoke a large cigar; which is fine for some people on some occasions; but, not always practical. Say; that, you are with some non-smoking companions and enjoying a fine, multi-course meal in a no smoking restaurant; you are a habitual cigar smoker and you know that there is usually a 10 to 15minute break between course servings and you are dying for a smoke. Your companions won’t mind if you disappear outside for a short while; but not for the hour it might take to smoke a full cigar.

If you know a nearby shop with Cigarillos For Sale; you have time to pop out; buy a pack; smoke one and be back at table almost before anyone notices. Furthermore, there are tax breaks that can make your cigarillo a better buy than cigarettes.
