As world events continue to unfold in ways that have been foretold in the Bible it appears more and more that God’s judgment on America is not something that is going to occur sometime well into the future; it is something that will happen in a much shorter period of time.
The reason for the nearness of God’s judgment on America is based on a turning away from biblical principles and biblical teachings combined with the prophetic passages from the Old Testament. Even those that are not Christians are raising the alarm about the potential for the implosion of the United States, and even these writers are indicating this is going to happen in the not too distant future.
The Decline of America in the World
One only has to turn on the news, listen to the radio or open your favorite news app to see how the world’s view and response to America has changed over the last several years. This in itself is part of God’s judgment on America as this country no longer holds the moral authority to be seen as a critical leader to the world.
It may not be possible to pinpoint one specific action that has led to this decline, which has been dramatic, but indicators such as increased unrest in countries considered both allies as well as enemies has been very evident. Changes in the way that we treat our own people’s privacy, as highlighted by the NSA spy scandal and events such as the IRS conspiracy, have created distrust, doubt and disgust for the people of the United States towards the US government and the Office of the President.
What can We Do?
For many religious leaders God’s judgment on America has already been passed. Unless there is a very evident, dramatic and true spiritual changing in American leadership, elected officials and the general population there can be no change.
However, God’s judgment on America is not something that the church and individuals cannot prepare for. Praying, fasting and returning to the teachings of the Bible are all critical starting points, and this is especially true for the church. Teaching, sharing the word of God and increasing our efforts in daily, meaningful prayer, fasting and revival are also important aspects of returning to God.
