Once you obtain a commercial pizza oven, you can generally trust in its reliability. This piece of equipment is built out of sturdy materials in order to last for a long while and function adequately throughout its lifetime. However, over time, you may find certain elements don’t function as well as they used to. Should you observe this with your commercial pizza oven, here is what could be the problem.
Your Thermostat May Need Calibrating
At some point, the thermostat within your commercial pizza oven may lose its calibration. This can cause multiple problems, including uneven heating and a flickering pilot light. Luckily, adjusting the calibration of the thermostat is fairly easy. To start, you need to take off the knob holding the thermostat in place in order to perform an examination. This helps you learn what kind of thermostat you are dealing with. From there, you can adjust the thermostat, either by screwing it or twisting a small disc until you notice the burner flaring back to life.
Sometimes attempting to calibrate your thermostat may reveal it needs replacing entirely. This only holds true if the burner never lights, no matter what you do.
The Thermocouple Could Be Malfunctioning
A thermocouple helps gauge the temperature of the oven as it heats and cools. By doing so, it enables the opening of the commercial pizza oven’s safety valve, which is an important mechanism. However, the thermocouple can only do this once it’s warm enough. In some cases, however, the thermocouple cannot retain the heat it needs and as a result, turns off and on sporadically. Depending on the extent of the problem, you may have to consider either replacing the thermocouple, the safety valve or both at once.500
