Serious airsoft games call for some serious sidearm. When you love airsoft and understand how the element of surprise can make or break a game, you should consider adding CO2 Airsoft pistols to your game. If you’ve ever been taken out by one you’ll know just how effective they can be on the competitive airsoft course.
Sidearm on the Course
When you run out of ammo having a lightweight pistol as part of your gear will sure come in handy. CO2 Airsoft pistols hold anywhere from 14-30 rounds. Depending on the gear you have you can just have your pistol ready and a couple of magazines ready to go as well.
Great Close Range Play
CO2 Airsoft pistols are the obvious weapon of choice for close range play. They can shoot up to 50-75 feet and are perfect when you want to bring down your opponent unexpectedly. The good thing about the pistol is that it is so lightweight. You can wear it comfortably on your ankle, thigh or waist. Many players also holster them on their tactical vests.
Possible Down Side
CO2 Airsoft pistols only shoot 15 rounds, but you can carry a lot of magazines on your vest without feeling weighed down or awkward. Likewise they also carry a limited air supply. You will need to have both air cartridges and magazines on hand to stay in the game.
Main Weapon
Some confident players will even use the pistol as their main weapon for an added rush and challenge. If this is the case you definitely need to get yourself a good vest with plenty of pouches to store your spare magazines and Co2 cartridges as you will need it. This is a far more aggressive stance as a player as you can only make contact at close range. Giving up a long range weapon takes skill and confidence, but can be quite the rush for the gutsy, experienced player.
Choose your Pistol
You have many pistols from which to choose including heavier models that are as close to the real thing as you can get in full out metal or less convincing weapons in lightweight plastics. If you opt for the metal version never aim it at someone off of the course as you will put yourself in danger of being mistaken for a deadly criminal.
Green – Co2 Pistols have a magazine capacity from 14-30
Yellow – Co2 Pistol use Co2 Cartridges
Teal – At no point should anyone aim any airsoft gun at anyone.
